Andy Murray Is The Youngest Brit To Qualify For The US Open
I've moved all of my blogging activity to The Lucid Blog.

His opening match will be against Romania's, Andrei Pavel, ranked 39 in the world.
The story of the wildcard that wasn't offered to Andy continues to run as it has been revealed that the organisers of the US Open were prepared to offer a wildcard if Wimbledon were prepared to offer a US player a wildcard for next year's tournament in return.
Personally, I think it would be churlish to point the finger at Wimbledon for turning the trade down. It's clear that Andy Murray has the ability, the form and the status to earn a wildcard and, had Andy not qualified on his own merits, the US Open would have been a poorer tournament.
Fortunately, it won't be long before Andy is a top 100 player and the matter of wildcards will be behind him.
