The death toll now stands at 49 officially, but is expected to rise to nearly 70.

On Saturday evening, 20,000 people were evacuated from Birmingham City Centre after a suspicious package was found. It appears the contents of the package were benign, but I wouldn't be surprised to see more events like this.

BBC radio station FiveLive has been discussing this morning, among other things, the implications of heightened security. Some believe tight security is a worthwhile response. Other believe that placing restrictions on our way of life means the terrorists win.
