BETA testing started yesterday and suddenly The Nettle Magazine looks like it might be launched sooner rather than later.

Testing needs to continue for another 7-10 days but the early signs look good with no serious bugs appearing so far.

My biggest victory so far was getting my Mother to subscribe to The Nettle. Hmm, sounds bad, better clarify that.

I asked her to try and register without any assistance to see if it the process was straightforward. Although she does use the internet, her experience is limited so this was a real test.

And, I'm pleased to say, that she managed without any real problems. The only sticking point was when she forgot to add .com to the end of her email address. Fortunately, the script prompted her to correct it and everything else was plain sailing.

One of my friends also subscribed successfully. He is a little more internet-savvy, but he didn't own a paypal account. Again, this didn't prove to be a problem as he was able to open an account as part of the registration process.

The next step is to see if the comissions are awarded correctly. I should know one way or the other tomorrow.

Testing aside, everything else is just tidying up. Tweaking this, proof-reading that, finishing the other.

I'm starting to get that buzz about work again...
