Truth About Doublers Update - 2 December

I've moved all of my blogging activity to The Lucid Blog.
You can visit my new home at:
www.thelucidblog.com

Earlier today, I submitted the article to a number of yahoo groups that are used by many publishers to locate articles of interest. I'll post any responses that I receive.

Total visits to the article - last 7 days: 1,638
Total visits to the article - since 4/11: 10,608

Clearly, visits to the article are slowing but, to have crossed the 10,000 visits barrier is pleasing.

Residual visitors should find their way to the article for many months (maybe years?) to come.

95 visitors have arrived at The Nettle via searching for terms including the word "Doublers". Google shows the following rankings for the article:

doublers: #3
money doubler: #2
doubler programs: #1
doubler: #20
money doubler programs: #1

While some of those results are encouraging, the two that frustrate me the most, are the rankings for "money doubler" and "doubler".

In each case, one of the websites ranking above the article is a website selling these loathsome scripts.

If you haven't already, please consider linking back to the article using the link title "money doubler programs". You don't have to make a song and dance out of it. Just one link, somewhere on your website.

One individual emailed me their experience, but haven't yet provided me with their web link. I'll put it up when it arrives, in the meantime, this is what they wrote,

"I was recently scammed out of some money in a doubler...

I hope that the people that didn't really know alot about a ponzi won't get into trouble for joining. I, and a lot of others really didn't know. I thought our money was getting invested into something. I guess I'm lucky I only lost $40...

Well thanks a lot for the information. I just put one of your banners on my personal website, and have already started emailing friends I know that need to read this information...."

I think this demonstrates that not everyone who uses thes programs really understands how they operate. I'd guess a lot of people think these programs are genuine until they lose their money.

Arie is 20 years old and is writing from Israel,

"I wanted to tell you that I read your article: http://www.thenettle.com/doublers/truth.html
And I definitely agree with those things you say.

Unfortunately, I already paid $10 to censored and I'm sure I won't get a penny back.

Anyway, very soon, I plan to build a website with a link to your article (using the banner which looks by the way very nice) and tell the truth about censored - which I participated in.

And that's it. I don't know exacly why I'm sending this email to you, only hope it makes you feel good that more people becoming aware of those scams.

Thanks for your article!"

Good to know, and thank you to everyone who has offered their support in this endeavour. I'll save the next update for a couple of weeks time, unless anything outstanding occurs.
