The Joys of Family

I've moved all of my blogging activity to The Lucid Blog.
You can visit my new home at:

This morning, as I sat in the bath, I planned my day.

I would:

- Follow up all the leads from last weeks exhibition

- Contact the applicants who I wanted to invite to join the writing team

- Finish my third draft of the article "The Truth About Doublers"

- Find a good "Tell-A-Friend" script for promoting the above.

If I could get through all that, it would be a pretty productive day.

It's now 1pm and I have completed none of the above. Why? Because I've been getting keys cut, buying bread, visiting the post office and transporting relatives.

As far as Internet Marketers go, I guess my situation is fairly unusual in that I am part of a family business. My parents are the directors and I am the sole employee. This means that in addition to my online work, I spend a portion of each day, running errands.

Usually this creates a nice break in my workday but, occasionally, like today, it becomes a burden. My "To Do" list grows ever larger and I'm defeated before I've begun.

But, you know what? I wouldn't swap this job for anything.

Working with my family is unlike any work atmosphere I've ever experienced and I love it. I love the freedom, the home comforts, the short walk to the office every morning and I especially enjoy spending the amount of time with my family that most people would (or should) envy.

And in case you're wondering how anything gets done around here, I should mention that we're making enough money to employ another family member.

In two weeks, my younger sister will be leaving her debt collecting job and coming to work for Paypershop Ltd. I'm looking forward to training her, and teaching myself the delicate art of delegation ;-)

Many people would balk at the idea of working with their family.

I wouldn't have it any other way.
