TrafficMastery - eBook Review

Think of all the different people that have recommended to you, a new e-book.

How many do you know that actually read the e-book before making the recommendation?

Well you know at least one.   Last week I took Dan Moses' e-book, Traffic Mastery, home and read it from cover to cover.   This puts me in a far better position to write a review of the material than simply recycing the blurb on the sales page.

In truth, if you have ever received a recommendation by Dan Moses of a particular e-book, then you know of at least two people that read what they promote.

In his introduction, Dan boasts a library of over 350 e-books and articles.   These products apparently formed the basis for his Internet Marketing education.

And this is probably the greatest testament to the quality of this e-book.   At no point during his 165 pages does Dan offer even the slightest suggestion that you can become a successful Internet Marketer overnight.   His book describes traffic generating techniques that take time to learn, implement and master.

Success is discussed in terms of months and years, rather than days and weeks.

This is a message worth sharing.

The topic of the e-book, as the title suggests, is bringing traffic to your website.   It assumes that you have a website and/or product ready to sell and are looking for ways to bring quality traffic to your domain.

The six main headings are:
  1. From Your Customers
  2. Third Party Endorsements - Joint Ventures
  3. From Tightly Targeted Sublists
  4. The Search Engines
  5. From Viral Marketing
  6. From Ezine Advertising
The material is presented in an easy, conversational manner that lacks pretension and is extremely easy to follow.   Although a couple of spelling errors have slipped through the net, the document has evidently been proofread and carefully checked.

Of course, the quality of the writing means nothing, if the methods explained are ineffective.   Although it would take many months to test all the suggestions, the ideas are logical and the techniques I have personally tried are successful.

The vast majority of the material are the methods that Dan Moses himself has used during his on-line career so the e-book never forms the theoretical approach that many other books rely on.   This is a detailed look of what Dan has found works for him, rather than merely suggestions of what might work.

I particularly enjoyed the section describing how Dan Moses purchased PageSwirl and successfully re-launched the product, enabling him to move into internet marketing on a full-time basis.   Real life stories always pack more of a punch than a simple description of what works.   The approaches described show real imagination and a keen understanding of how the on-line community works.

The only real criticism I can make of Traffic Mastery can also be leveled at most e-books.   The target audience is simply too broad for the subject matter.

This book is aimed at both beginners and the more experienced Internet Marketer.   The novice will probably get the most long-term use from the book but, despite the clarity of the writing, some of the techniques presume a certain level of knowledge they may not possess.

On the flip-side, the more experienced user will fly through the material with ease, but may experience some frustration with sections that cover ideas they are already well familiar with.   In fact, if you have read through any of Dan Moses' email courses you may recognise some of the material that is reproduced in this e-book.

The ideal reader will already have a reasonable working knowledge of how to create and maintain a website, but be short on ideas of how to bring good, targeted traffic for little or no cost.   If you fit into this category you will not be disappointed by what is on offer.

If you are already quite experienced, you may not feel you have the need for a book on traffic generation.   And, although you would undoubtedly come across some ideas you have not previously considered you will not miss out on much.

If you are new to the industry, you may need some additional assistance beyond what this book provides to get yourself started.   But this e-book will prove worthwhile.   Sources of additional information are readily available and you can always email david@thenettle.com if you have questions on anything relating to internet marketing.   I can't guarantee I will have the knowledge to help, but I will always reply to your email and, at the very least, try and point you in the right direction.

The cost of the book is $37.00 and includes the following bonuses:
  • AutoResponder Unlimited V2.0
  • Ultimate Ad Tracker V2.1
  • Web Page Personalization Script
