Opportunity Review
Please. Save me from the endless babble that adorn web marketing websites.
Let me be clear. I think John Reese’s Opportunity.com is an excellent concept. But why take 4,252 words to tell me this? (count ‘em) Why do I have to read for 20 minutes to learn what the program does.
Let me save you the trouble.
In a nutshell:
- you recruit people into your downline
- once a week you can send an email to other members
- the number of members you can reach is only limited by the number of people you recruit.
Heard this one before? Opportunity.com has a couple of advantages over similar programs. But allow me to backtrack a little.
When spam started to become a real problem, people became nervous about sending unsolicited email. The safelist was invented to allow people to send emails to each other without the worry. Since everyone had agreed to receive emails in exchange for being allowed to send them, spam complaints could be avoided.
Safelists still have their uses, but people started to abuse them. As a safelist grows in popularity, the number of emails received can become unmanageable. People started using free email accounts they never checked to receive the email.
The consequence? Lots of email being sent. No emails being read.
To counter this problem a different model was created. One of the most well known versions is Freemailer. Members recruit new members who agree to receive emails from their upline ONLY. Working on 20 levels, this means you can build a large list of people to contact while only ever receiving a maximum of 20 emails per week from your upline.
This is far more manageable for the average user but the drawback, of course, is that even if you have excellent recruitment skills, mostly you will only email the same people every week.
Opportunity.com has tweaked the Freemailer model in an attempt to solve some of these problems.
1) Instead of only emailing those in your downline, your advertisement is sent to a random selection of members equal to the number of people in your downline.
This means you have the ability to reach, not just the people who join after you, but also those who joined before you. You are only limited by the number of people in your downline. A downline that spans 20 levels.
Obviously not everyone will manage to recruit vast numbers but, as the number of emails received is never more than 20 a week (in practice, much less than this), some stop using the program to send adverts, but don’t object to continue receiving them.
2) The other advantage of this program is that free email accounts (yahoo, aol, hotmail, etc) cannot be used in the sign-up process. You must have your own email address to take part.
This means your email won’t end up in a dead email account that no-one ever looks at, allowing a far better chance that your advert will be seen.
Opportunity.com also provide you with URL redirects. To prevent spam complaints against your website (if you have one), you can use these when you send your advert.
These redirects can also be used when advertising through other methods. When someone visits this URL, a pop-under is created, advertising your Opportunity.com referral link, thereby helping you to build your downline.
I personally would avoid this as I rarely entertain pop-ups or pop-unders of any description and this option certainly isn't required to make use of the program. But if you’re not hampered by the same prejudice, you may find this useful.
Realistically, if you don’t like safelists or Freemailer, Opportunity.com is unlikely to change your mind. But if you’re looking for a marketing opportunity outside of traffic exchanges, this might just be what you’re looking for. Click the banner below and scroll to the bottom of the page to register.
This review, of course, just represents one opinion. Agree or disagree, post your review of this program at The Nettle Forum and the most interesting submission will win one month of PAID membership to Mystical Maze.
