PageSwirl - Reviewed

PageSwirl is a web page rotator.   For the uninitiated, this means it will take the URL’s of all the web pages you want to promote and link them ALL to one web address.   Each time someone visits this web address, PageSwirl will show the next URL on your list.

The obvious advantage is that you can ensure even distribution of traffic to all your preferred web pages.   The less obvious, but more useful application is to insert your PageSwirl web address into all the traffic exchanges you use.   This means that every time you want to change or add a new web page to send traffic to, you only have to make the amendment at PageSwirl, rather than having to visit every single Traffic Exchange individually.   A worthwhile timesaver.

There are plenty of websites out there offering rotator services and there are two main features you need to look for.

1)   Uptime.   If the website running the rotators stops working due to exceed bandwidth, your web pages aren’t being shown and your hits are being wasted.   A reliable host is essential.

PageSwirl boasts some excellent redundancies including an independent generator in the event of a power cut.   This attention to detail is reassuring and makes PageSwirl a dependable solution.

2)   Reputation.   Some traffic exchanges have banned rotators altogether so you should check the terms & conditions of each exchange before loading your PageSwirl web address.   The reason some take a dim view of rotators is because it is easier for people to slip banned or restricted web pages onto an exchange.

PageSwirl and it’s owner, Dan Moses, have a solid reputation in the traffic exchange industry which means the odds of your accounts being put at risk by using PageSwirl are small.

The other main selling point of PageSwirl is that the rotator is invisible.   Usually rotators offer you a free rotator with pop-ups, frames or banners, with the option to pay a monthly fee to remove the advertising.   PageSwirl is invisible whether you are using the free or PRO version.

Some prefer using a framed rotator as it allows viewers to see the other web pages you are promoting.   While this does have its advantages, an invisible rotator is a more professional approach and looks better on traffic exchanges.   Viewing a framed rotator on a framed traffic exchange is untidy.

PageSwirl offer you five slots to enter your web pages.   This is easy to do and the instructions are clear for first-time users.   Before you load every slot, remember that your daily traffic will be divided equally.   If the amount of traffic you receive is small, you might want to fill just two or three of these slots.

If your level of traffic is high, you will want to consider upgrading to the PRO version.   For $6 a month you are offered the ability to rotate a infinite number of web pages.

An idle boast since it can’t be tested, but I stuffed about 50 pages in to see how it would cope.

The figures added up evenly in the order I entered the pages and the figures tied in successfully with the pages I tracked.   Once you have all your web pages loaded in you can choose to pause or prioritise individual slots.   As the number of displays are recorded this makes it very easy to keep track of which pages you have given sufficient attention to.

PageSwirl give away a new freebie every month.   You can also access their back catalogue of freebies, which means as soon as you’ve paid your first $6 dollars you have access to:
  • Java Script Pro
  • Free ClickMaster Pro Membership
  • Paylock Generator
  • Fast Selling Software
  • Biz Automator
  • Magic Subscriber
  • Easy List Cleaner
  • Screen Shoot-It!
As with all freebies, they will either prove of little interest or contain one or two gems that make the subscription worthwhile on their own.   Either way, they are a generous addition.

PageSwirl also offer an affiliate scheme which pays 20% ($1.20 per month, per PRO subscriber in your downline) or, if you upgrade to PRO, 50% ($3 per month, per PRO subscriber in your downline).

Unlikely to make you a fortune, but if you can find a couple of paying subscribers this can pay for your PRO membership by itself.

Traffic Mastery and an Ad Co-Op also feature in the program, but these are really separate to the rotator service and would warrant individual reviews.

If you have a rotator you are happy with then there probably isn’t a great deal of point in changing to PageSwirl unless there is a specific feature missing from your existing provider.

If you are not using a rotator, and are using traffic exchanges, you should at least try out the free membership.   Swapping your regular web page URL’s for one PageSwirl URL makes changing and tracking visits a whole lot easier.

If you would like to try PageSwirl, you can use the link below.

We would like to know your opinions on this program.   Appreciation, criticism and good, old-fashioned vitriol are very welcome.   Visit The Nettle Forum to post your review.

COMING IN ISSUE #19:

"The Day SPAM Destroyed The World"

Editors' Note

Joel is back, but unavailable.   Normal business should resume next week.

Some interesting developments are occurring within the Traffic Exchange industry.   A new exchange is on the horizon which could turn out to be another HitSafari.   And a new internet browser designed specifically for exchange surfers is just days away from release.   Really looking forward to putting this one through its paces.

Also coming over the next few weeks:
  • A review of the spam blocker we've been testing for months.   It actually works!
  • A review of the new ebook - The Angel Inside.   An inspiration or pretentious rubbish? We'll tell it how it is.
  • A new look for The Nettle.   Nothing drastic, but we will be taking onboard the feedback we've received.
One final point for you to consider.   Although our articles cannot be reproduced until six weeks after they are published in The Nettle, the reviews can be distributed without restriction.   You can even change the hyperlinks to your affiliate links.

The only request we make is that you mention The Nettle as the source of the review.   How large a mention you choose to make is up to you.   You can view our previous reviews HERE .

Best wishes.

David Congreave.

So far, Barbara has posted the only response to this thread.   Does this mean everyone else is seriously lacking in creativity?

Prove me wrong, otherwise I will give the 1st prize in this months forum competition to Barbara as a thank you for taking the time to post.

If you want to enter the competition, post in Debate #10 at The Nettle Forum.
